PRETZEL SALAD



INGREDIENTS:
2 cups pretzels, crushed
3 Tbsp sugar
3/4 cup oleo, melted
1 (8 oz) pkg. cream cheese
1 (8 oz) pkg. Cool Whip
1 cup sugar
1 (6 oz) pkg. strawberry Jello
2 cups boiling water
2 (10 oz) pkgs. frozen, sliced strawberries, thawed

Crush pretzels (put in plastic bag and use rolling pin). Don't crush too fine, allow some small pieces.

Mix together pretzel crumbs, melted oleo and 3 Tbsp sugar. Press into a 9x13-inch baking dish.

Bake at 400° no longer than 8 minutes. Let cool. Beat remaining sugar and cream cheese. Stir in Cool Whip. Pour this mixture over pretzel crust. Dissolve Jello with boiling water. Let stand, until syrupy and add strawberries. Pour over cheese mixture. Refrigerate until set.

SUGGESTION: May use raspberry or peach Jello with raspberries or peaches.
